2006 Highlights

Kurt Johnson - NHRAWon the 2006 O’Reilly Mid-South Nationals in Memphis, Tenn., defeating Jason Line on a holeshot in the final to move into fourth place on the all-time NHRA Pro Stock winner’s list with 35 national event wins. Won the 2006 Carquest Auto Parts Nationals in Joliet, Ill., using a career-best 6.646-second elapsed time to defeat Greg Anderson on a holeshot.

Won the 2006 Summitracing.com Nationals in Las Vegas, Nev., marking the twelfth consecutive year he has won at least one race, which is the longest active streak in Pro Stock and the second longest among all NHRA professional categories.

Established new career best in top speed with his 207.72 mph run during qualifying at the Carquest Auto Parts Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., on February 11, 2006.

Kurt Johnson - NHRAFirst Pro Stock driver in NHRA history to run a 6-second elapsed time (6.988 seconds, Englishtown, N.J., on May 20, 1994); first member of Holley 6-Second Pro Stock Club.

1993 NHRA Rookie of the Year (won three events and finished second to his father, Warren, in championship).

35 NHRA national event victories (fourth among Pro Stock drivers)

65 final-round appearances (35 wins and 30 runners-up).

Third Member of Speed-Pro 200 mph Pro Stock Club (ran 200.13 mph on March 14, 1998).
